An’Nur Jamek Mosque
A unique structural of architecture design, the mosque is the pride of Labuan’s Muslims. If you are intending to visit the interior, please dress moderately and seek permission before entering.
Bird Park
Though its compound is not as big as you thought but the structure of the bird park is definitely a fascinating place for visitation. The bird park houses about 600 species of birds found in the Borneo’s diverse habitats within the three dome-shaped cages. Admission is free.
Chimmey
A ventilation shaft built around 1800 is still strong on Tanjung Kubong. The Chimney still remains a mystery today, as there is no trace of smoke or burning within. Some said that it is more likely to be a lighthouse. Well, it has become one of the tourist attractions on the island especially it was built with more than 23,000 pieces of bricks.
Financial Park Complex
This is perhaps the most impressive building in Labuan. The complex offers visitors a paradise for shopping and entertainments.
Labuan Marine Museum
The latest attraction on the island is the Marine Museum. Here you will get to learn about the marine life around Labuan and Borneo. There are 16 galleries exhibiting items of live specimens to information on do’s and dont’s. It is quite interesting and a good start before diving. The Marine Museum is located at JalanTanjung Purun and opens from 9am to 6pm daily. Admission is free.
Marine Park
Pulau Kuraman, Pulau Rusukan kecil and Pulau Rusukan Besar are the three islands which made up the marine park. Visitors can get to enjoy the sandy beaches, snorkeling and even jungle trekking. This is a great place for camping and picnics. Please take note that you are not allowed to do fishing here or anchoring your boat in the sea.
Tanjung Kubong Tunnel
This is where you’ll find the remains of a coal mine since 1847. There are many tunnels and deep wells that are yet to be explored as they can be quite dangerous. Anyway, you can take the safer route across the chimney.
Peace Park
It is a memorial site of the surrendered Japanese to the 9th Australia Imperial Forces during 1945. Its surrounding consists of a beautiful landscape of garden and pond.
